A Week in the Life

Image
Well hello lovely reader! It has been indeed quite some time since my last post, which clearly means I have been off enjoying real life. The problem with extensive time in the real world is that when I come back to the computer, there's a lot to catch up on, and it's hard to do it all justice. So here is my attempt to sum up the last week in it's awesome entirety. WARNING: very long post. Proceed at your own risk. Wednesday Last Wednesday, after a morning of grocery shopping and cleaning, I went to the airport to pick up John. I parked my car and entered the forgotten realm that is Terminal 2 at Sky Harbor. Along with perhaps five other people, I sat anxiously outside the security line, pacing and waiting for John to disembark. I knew he had landed, and I kept waiting to catch sight of combat boots walking down the terminal amide the throngs smattering of other passengers. No such luck. Eventually, I get a call from him asking where I am. Now, Terminal 2 is the d...

While our parents are off gallivanting in Scotland, the four of us decided to have our own fun here at home. We decided to do dinner and a movie, with me cooking. (We have received one e-mail from our parents, and two brief facebook status updates to let us know they are alive. The last line of the 5-line e-mail mom sent? "Feed Freddy." Nice to know what the priorities are...) So, I decided to make a delicious meal of bacon-wrapped chicken and roasted veggie pasta salad. Larissa walked in and the first thing out of her mouth was, "It smells so good in here!" Freddy was hesitant at first about eating anything I'd prepared, but even he enjoyed it and was complimentary. Success! He was the only one who'd never eaten my cooking before - because he never came to my apartment ever! ...

Day 9: A Favorite Picture of My Best Friend

Image
I don't know that I can pick one picture to be my favorite, so we'll share several here. :) First, this is Larissa - and this picture sums her up in SO many ways. (Sorry to whoever took it, I just stole it from FB) Larissa is one of the most exciting people I know - never a dull moment. Even when she naps all the time, anywhere, at a moment's notice. She is wild and fun and full of life and love and energy. She's also passionate about music and using it to serve her Creator. I suppose this picture could be a close call for a favorite - the look of mischief on her face is just too classic. I have so many memories of camping with her, from babyhood onward. It's one of the things I miss most in life! We've known each other since birth and have had great fun growing up to be bestest best friends - generally known as twins. We are 11 months apart to the day, and even though I'm older, I somehow ended up as Twin #2. I'm also shorter! (and shorter than...
